The 30th Pottery Festival features:

 

 A special exhibit to honor the many Stahl family members (past & † ††††† present who † have served our country; will be displayed in & ††††† ††††† around the† Thomas and Alice Stahl House Museum.†

 Over 30 local potters displaying and selling traditional &

†††††††††† contemporary pottery†††††††

 tours of the potting sheds and kiln

 pottery demonstrations

 hands-on potting opportunities

 an exhibit of original, historic Stahlís pottery

 the sale of baked goods & light refreshments

 Our newest Commemorative Ornament & other SPPS items

 

The Festival will be held rain or shine.† Parking is free.

Admission is $4.00 per person; children under 18 are free.

 

Several of the participating potters will demonstrate turning

pottery on the potterís wheel and other pottery making techniques

during the Festival.† Raku pottery demonstrations will be performed

periodically throughout the Festival.

 

(A limited number of the redware sgraffito plates commemorating the 25th

anniversary of Stahl's Pottery Preservation Society and the Stahlís Pottery

Festival made by Joel Leh, great grandson of Thomas Stahl, are still available

for sale.)

 

The recently published book entitled "Stahl's Pottery of† Powder Valley"††

will be available.† This book contains an informative history of the Stahl's Pottery,

including chapters on Charles Stahl, Thomas and Isaac Stahl, Russell Stahl, and†††

Carrie Stahl Schultz. The book features a 16 page color portfolio of pottery pieces made

at Stahl's Pottery and over 75 historic Black and White photographs.

 

 

Due to the fragile nature of our potterís exhibits, we do suggest that you leave your pets at home; however,† service animals are welcome.

Stahlís Pottery Preservation Society, Inc. (SPPS), will hold its† 30th Annual Pottery Festival on

Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Stahlís Pottery,

historic property in Powder Valley, Pennsylvania.
